Homeward Bound Pet Crematory & Cemetery Services Included:
Pets become members of the family, and their final arrangements deserve thoughtful consideration. Homeward Bound Pet Crematory & Cemetery serves Staunton, IL with burial, cremation, cemetery, and remembrance services for beloved companion animals.
Choosing the Right Aftercare Option
There is no single choice that works for every pet owner. Some families prefer a traditional cemetery burial with a casket and grave marker. Others choose cremation and keep their companion’s remains in a memorial urn.
Homeward Bound also offers alkaline hydrolysis, which uses water rather than fire. Compared with flame based cremation, the process consumes considerably less energy and creates a much smaller carbon footprint. It can also result in more of your pet’s remains to be returned to your family.
Pet tributes, memorials, urns, caskets, grave markers, cremation, and burial options allow Staunton families to create a farewell that reflects the bond they shared with their pet.
FAQ
Does the size of my pet affect cremation arrangements?
Pet size can affect the cost and other details of aftercare services. Larger pets generally require additional resources, which is why many cremation providers consider weight when determining pricing.
Can both dogs and cats be cremated?
Yes. Cremation and other pet aftercare services are commonly available for both dogs and cats, as well as other companion animals depending on the provider and the animal’s size.
What happens to a pet during the cremation process?
The exact process depends on the method selected. Homeward Bound offers alkaline hydrolysis, a water based process that provides an alternative to traditional flame cremation while allowing the remaining mineral material to be prepared as cremains.
